What does time at NBR look like?

Physical

Mental Health and Trauma

Mental Health and Trauma

We believe God created us to live vibrant, active lives—caring for our bodies as part of honoring His design. Yet modern life often pulls us away from healthy rhythms. At New Beginnings Ranch, we seek to return to the life God intended: one marked by nourishing food, restful sleep, purposeful movement, worship, and meaningful relationships.

NBR offers space to reset these rhythms including activities such as hiking, climbing, biking, and swimming—surrounded by the beauty of His creation.

Physical activity is tailored to each person.  We encourage movement that fits their personal fitness level, always honoring the body as a sacred part of God’s design.

Mental Health and Trauma

We will spend time in nature, both solo and in groups as we pursue mental health. We also try to follow the natural rhythm of sleeping and waking.

Trauma is the emotional response to a stressful or distressing event—or series of events—and it can result in a variety of mental, emotional, and physical symptoms. Many of us carry these experiences, often without realizing their impact.

Trauma is like carrying a 100-pound backpack. Whether it’s one heavy rock, a hundred smaller ones, or even a load of sand, the weight is the same—and it wears on us over time. Whether someone has faced a single overwhelming event or many smaller painful moments, the burden can feel just as heavy. But we’ve seen that healing is possible. And we count it a joy to walk alongside others on the path toward healing and wholeness—so they, in turn, can bring that hope to others.

Spiritual

Spiritual life is both personal and communal. We believe there is great value in quiet, individual reflection as well as in gathering with others to explore life’s deeper questions. At New Beginnings Ranch, we invite every guest to participate in times of worship—shaped by the unique needs and desires of each individual or group.

Taking time away from our phones and other gadgets give us a chance to clear our minds, hear from God, and hear each other. We have minimcal cell service and encourage everyone to set technology aside and engage with nature, each other, and God.
